Ads101: Create a Branded Catalog

Avoid creative fatigue and increase the CTR (click-through-rate) of your ads.

A catalog is a ‘feed’ of your products. When you create an ad, Facebook chooses products from your catalog to show to your audience. You can select a separate catalog for each ad that you create.

Branded Catalogs add crucial information like your logo, discounts or coupon codes to your basic product image. They also help your ad grab attention by including eye-catching design elements to your product feed.

Create Branded Catalog:

1. Click on ‘Advertising’ in the left panel and select ‘Product Catalogs’.

2. Select the products that you would like to include in your catalog.

   What you need to know

   If you use this catalog to create a Dynamic Product Ad, Facebook will show your audience products which they have previously viewed, as long as these are included in your catalog.

   If you create a Conversion Ad, Facebook will dynamically change the order of products based on which product is getting the most engagement.

   Here’s how to decide which products to select for your catalog.

   • All products in shop: If you are unsure about which products will perform best in your ad, choose this option.
   • Collection: Select this to showcase a particular seasonal or popular section e.g. swimsuits in the summer or woolen coats in the winter.
   • Select products: Manually choose specific products to highlight.

3. Choose any template that you would like to showcase your products in.

   What you need to know

   Each template is available in 7 sizes. Your products will automatically get fitted into the size variation that best suits your product photo to avoid cropping.

   Socioh Tip

   You will find ‘Occasion’ templates available before every major retail event or holiday. If you have products that are suitable for Valentines Day or are running a BFCM sale, select the themed catalog for that occasion.

4. You will now be able to view and edit individual creatives from the ‘Ad Creatives’ tab.

5. Click the blue ‘Publish’ button above your creatives. You will now be able to use this catalog to create DPAs and Conversion ads from Socioh. Click on ‘View’ to see this catalog on Facebook and ‘Edit’ to make changes to it.

   Socioh Tip

   Please make sure that you are logged in to the correct Facebook account and have access to the Business Manager that is connected to Socioh.
